Last month, Tom Henderson released a video to YouTube titled GTA 6 – Release Date, Vice City, Modern Setting and More (Grand Theft Auto 6 Leaks and Rumors). He is known for his leaks connected to the Battlefield franchise, sometimes being able to predict huge chunks of information which turned out to be 100% correct. Although he isn’t known for his Grand Theft Auto leaks, and has told us to take this information with a grain of salt, he has released an 11 minute video filled with lots of information about the upcoming sequel to Grand Theft Auto 5, which will leave lots of fans excited.
Grand Theft Auto 6, known by its codename Project Americas, has been rumored to be based in Vice City, however Henderson’s video claims it is a possibility, yet GTA 6 is likely to be in a modern setting, claiming that an 80’s setting may limit the developers when it comes to GTA Online expansions. Although Henderson does confirm, that Vice City will return in some capacity.
The Map
Henderson also claims that there will be DLCs for GTA 6. Even though we are still waiting for the single player GTA V DLC nearly 8 years later. Henderson claims that the map will change with each DLC, like the game Fortnite is known for, and the map will likely end up being smaller than the leaks that are out there at the moment. With some “leaks” claiming multiple islands with different countries and states, which is something Henderson doesn’t believe to be true.
Characters
Henderson claims that Grand Theft Auto 6 will return with multiple playable characters for the story mode, with a high possibility of one of the main protagonists being a playable female character. Henderson claims that the female character will be the “smarter character”, who will focus on the hacking and technology side of the story mode.
Release
Rockstar normally take at least 2 years on marketing and gaining hype around the new Grand Theft Auto game before they release it. Which means when they announce the game, we still have up to 2 years before it is going to be on our consoles and computers.
Henderson also claims that the release will likely be 2024/2025. He claims that the game isn’t in early development, but the release date is to make sure employee wellbeing is made a priority. Given the recent controversy surrounding “crunch culture”. Which forces employees to work crazy hours with little to no sleep in order to have games ready for deadlines. Henderson also claims that the game will only be released on PC and newer gen consoles, leaving out older consoles as they will likely struggle to handle the game.
Cryptocurrency
Henderson claims that cryptocurrency will be a part of Grand Theft Auto 6. Claiming that a cryptocurrency will be created for the game, which can be given to players as mission rewards and there will be some storylines surrounding cryptocurrency. However, the coin will not be worth any real life money, and will be only in the GTA game, meaning you cannot list it on Binance for real life cash.
Although these leaks cannot be 100% confirmed, Tom Henderson does have quite a reputation for reliable information and sources surrounding leaks for Battlefield and Call of Duty, meaning you should take these leaks with a grain of salt, until Rockstar Games confirm the leaks entirely or announcing the new game.
